Statement on Language and Content

The Moore Memorial Public Library presents oral history interviews as part of the historical record for Texas City. They are the personal recollections and opinions of the individuals involved and, therefore, may contain language, ideas or stereotypes that are offensive or harmful to others. The Moore Memorial Public Library strives to make our collection materials available online to our local Texas City community, as well as to a wider online audience. We aim to describe archival materials in a manner that is respectful to the user as well as to the staff which steward these materials. We understand that terminology changes over time, and we encourage users to contact staff with any questions or concerns.
